This little passage has me curious what the rest of the story is about! I like your descriptions, but sometimes i think you had some run-on sentences. But most of it sounds good and reads like an actual story, so good job! I like that you used words like "tenacity", "bawdy", and "incongruity." For some reason, to me, this adds a lot. I like this...
