What is the best way to get strong perspiration smell out of clothes? thanks?

My husband is very clean but sweats a lot and it is very difficult to get the smell out of some of his clothes in spite of the fact they are worn once then washed, are cotton and he uses deodorant..Any ideas? Thanks
